Bio
My name is Ian Anderson, and I am a graphic designer from Mission Viejo, California. I love to create work primarily in Photoshop, but I also have lots of experience with Illustrator and InDesign as well. My main area of expertise is photo manipulation, but I have also done work such as logo creation, marketing mockups, collages, and much more. Graphic Design is one of the top passions that I have in my life, and I hope to be able to pursue a career where I can have fun every day that I work.
Hobbies
The three things that I like the most are video games, soccer, and creating things in Photoshop. Video games are my passion and I’ve been playing them for most of my life. They’re a way for me to escape reality and bring myself happiness through the worlds I explore in game. I played a lot of different sports growing up, but soccer was the one sport that stuck with me and kept me interested. I never went so far as to play on a competitive team, but I do try to go play for fun with my dad and brother every week if possible. The last thing I like, creating things in Photoshop, is what pushed me to go after a degree in graphic design. Back in high school, I took a design class as an elective, and I had so much fun with the program that I decided that was what I wanted to pursue as a career.
Design Philosophy
My design philosophy is that you should create something that you are interested in and that you want to put your time and effort into. No design is ever perfect, but it’s about the effort that someone puts into their design that makes it great. Also, each design you do requires you to solve a different set of problems. You can’t simply do the same thing for one design as you would for another. Your design should be able to communicate to the viewer its purpose without leaving them confused and full of questions. I believe that simplicity is always the way to go. You should seek to accomplish your design in the simplest way possible without overcomplicating it. The best designs are the ones that tell the most information with the least detail.
